Dipika pallikal reaches the final, beating joshna chinappa, in the WSA Granite Open event

Dipika pallikal has reached the final, beating joshna chinappa, in the WSA Granite Open event

Dipika Pallikal proved her superiority over Joshna Chinappa once again.  Six months after the two had met in the Asian Games in Incheon and where Dipika won, the top ranked Indian did it again beating her country-mate 3-1 in a top draw semi-final of the WSA-Granite Open event in Toronto.

The third seed Dipika, who is ranked 13 in the World,  thus stormed into the final where she faces either Amanda Sobhy or Sarah-Jane Perry, the results are still come through.

There is little that Dipika gives away on the court these days as she displayed in her quarterfinal final win over Jenny Duncalf.  Sharp in her movements and sure in her placings, Dipika’s hesitant phase ended with the first game which went in Joshna’s favour on extended points after the score was 10-all.  Thereafter the equations changed. Dipika reeled off the next three games showing great touch and class.

The result: semi-final:

Dipika Pallikal beat Joshna Chinappa  3-1 (10-12, 11-7, 11-9, 11-9)
