The gallant fight of Neel Joshi, the lone Indian entrant at the semi-final stage ended at the hands of a Malaysian, Muhammed Amirul Azhar in the Boys U-13 category on Tuesday evening in the British Junior Open squash at Sheffield. The Malaysian lad won 14-12, 11-5, 12-10 in an engrossing match.
Azhar, seeded ¾ did not have it easy against Neel seeded 9/16. The Indian lad already had earned the reputation of being a spirited fighter. He showed all that qualities again forcing the rival to extra points in two games but could not push home the advantage beyond that. It was 34 minutes of close action before the Malaysian saw off the Indian boy and booked his passage into the final.
