Team event for India begin well - SA Games

India has begun well in the team event with the men and women teams registering wins, both over Nepal by 3-0 margin in the South Asian Games 2016 in Guwahati on Monday.

The team event is conducted on a round-robin format. In the men’s match, Saurav ghosal’s indifferent form was conspicuous as he conceded a game to little known Arhant Keshar Simha in the opening singles. Saurav won but it could have been easier. Kush Kumar and Ravi Dixit were the others who did duty for India and won their matches easily.

In the women’s section, Joshna Chinappa took rest and Dipika Karthik (nee Pallikal) took the stage to set the path to victory. Sunayna Kuruvilla and Akansha Salunkhe completed the job.
