After a successful 2017 with 21 tournaments in the National Circuit, the SRFI will introduce some changes to the guidelines with immediate effect.
Equal Prize Money - There will be equal prize money for male and female players in all tournaments (in all categories) in the National Circuit. Currently this system is in vogue in the senior events including the National Championships. The SRFI is keen to be the frontrunner in the country to provide parity in prize money in all its fixtures.
Carry Forward Points - In a bid to give an added sharpness to competitions in the junior section when a player moves to the higher age category following a birthday, 35% (instead of 50%) of each of the best 4 results from the lower category will be transferred and the two records merged. click here to view SRFI Ranking guidelines.
Rankings for Masters & Pro Coach - Another proposal being brought forward is to bring Pro Coaches and Masters category participants into the domain of the ranking system, which is currently on only for junior and senior players. This would mean that the annual I-SPIN registration fee will be for all categories of players.
Selection Criteria - The selection criteria 2018 for juniors and seniors events can be found at this link.
